Engineering and product work
Tarun’s recent work includes TickMessage, a multi-channel CRM and messaging automation platform; a high-throughput sports-data platform; inventory and ecommerce systems; legacy Rails modernisation; and operational software connecting ordering, stock, suppliers, delivery, finance and customer communications.
Commercial background
Before moving fully into engineering, Tarun held senior roles in recruitment, sales and people leadership. That commercial background informs Pacifica’s approach: software is treated as part of the business operation, not as an isolated technical exercise.
Community leadership
Tarun serves as Treasurer and Board Member of Ruby Australia, has been elected to the board three times, convened RubyConf Australia 2024, and helps organise Ruby Sydney.
Teaching and learning
Earlier in his engineering career Tarun taught Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and JavaScript at General Assembly. He holds a Stanford University certificate, Machine Learning — Supervised Learning, Optimization, and Model Evaluation (issued November 2016).
